From artist to digital craftsman--

Gary has lived in the Pacific Northwest thirty-four years (born a mile from Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, California). He began his creative journey as the school artist (from the 4th grade), he spent countless hours drawing cartoons, animals, people and wild hot rods, winning awards for his efforts. He had an equal love of sports and popular music. In high school (Southern Oregon), he was the drummer in a rock & roll band, then, an air personality for the local teen radio station. After a six month "vacation" in Kentucky, Oklahoma and California, courtesy of the US Army, everything seemed different back at school. Gary had outgrown the small town he once loved. Seattle, once a childhood dream to visit, was on the horizon.

Gary's energy, along with his background in music and radio, propelled him into the "glamorous" and exciting world of The Music Business... Then a recession hit the area. Still in his early twenties, Gary moved to L.A., the music capitol of the planet (joining the other 10,000 song writers). After a try at acting (secret revealed) He settled in as an account executive, then a writer/photographer for an L.A. publishing company. Photographing music performers, models, executives, children (including two of his own) and weddings. His first print competition entries were accepted into the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Fair. After graduating from college with a degree in Communications, Gary moved to The Bay Area. In only two years he could see his destiny was really in Seattle.

As a commercial photographer in the Seattle area since 1985, Gary has taken his skills to a much higher level. As an early participant in the digital revolution in the early 1990's, he has steadily increased his diversity and value to the area's business community.

Until recently, Gary was immersed in the operations of the Seattle Professional Photographers Association, as the vice president of communications, helping to reshape the organization to maintain it's relevance in the 21st century.
